Coastal yellows
9-3-2025

Nice morning action on excellent quality yellowtail set us right for the day. In balmy conditions all pulled to their hearts content and larders capacity. It was a perfect pace in perfect conditions that we voluntarily left behind when anglers achieved their goals and/or succumbed to exhaustion. Late afternoon and early evening found us along the spectacular coast in bait replenishment mode. If the yellowtail action wasn’t enough the bait catching most certainly was. While we did catch plenty of perfect size mackerel plenty of jumbo size and various other undesirable critters turned some attempts into straight demolition derby’s.
Needless to say that brand of fun has it’s limits. Evening found us tucked behind a beloved point fast to the bottom shut down for the night. Stunning scenery and tropical climate welcomed anglers who chose to wet a line well into the evening hours. Tomorrow the search continues as we ply the coast for a final full day of variety action. Today’s image features long time Royal Star master angler and veteran Alan Masukawa with a beautiful, premium grade yellowfin landed two days prior.
