Another long day engaged in the waiting game. Fortunately that game today did include abundant sign of fish. Following a morning cruise that allowed all to catch up on some rest the afternoon and evening passed with plenty of rail time but nothing in the bag to show for it. But we were on them tracking movements all day. In the end the objective of placing ourselves in the ideal position come dark was achieved. In a classic bottom of the ninth two out walk off setup the final stop was the one sought all trip. The final hour of the voyage was as good as one could hope for. For the better part of an hour nigh every drop produced a bite on 75-120 pound class bluefin. Jubilant and sated we set sail for home freighting that unique satisfaction that comes from success hard earned. Many thanks to CharterMaster Steve Tsujiuchi and this hearty, incredibly patient group of exceptional individuals who put in the hours and hung tough through adversity to ultimately reap the reward’s. Photos today feature Master angler and Royal Star friend Andy Brotherton with a nice, average size bluefin currently available in the local zones. Photo number two features old school long range fishing legend Jimmy Lew with one of several dandies landed in the final round. The cover photo features a screenshot from the front row of last night’s SpaceX launch at Vandenberg AFB that tracked directly over our position just after sundown.
