Fish Report for 6-14-2025

Rough start

6-14-2025
Tim Ekstrom

Not the start we sought featuring zero production from what was an ocean full of fish. Licking our chops at dark poised to pick up where the action last night left off all were ready to roll. Then the minutes ticked by, then hours, then the whole night. A few little dabs and a couple of decent schools all had the same disposition. Skittish and squirrelly none showed any interest our offerings. Bummer. The old refrain in these instances always rings true. #$?%!** Bluefin. In for the penny and pound tomorrow the search begins anew. In cooperation with our colleagues we’ll be scouring the waters determined to track these bluefin down. Photo today is a testament to the cooperation we all benefit from on the offshore grounds. Finding this massive, incredibly dangerous log smack in the middle of the fishing zone. We stopped to mark the terrifying hazard with lights visible at night. As the story goes a few hours later our good friends on the PQ narrowly avoided impact due to the lights thankfully visible in the dark. A big shout out to Brian Kiyohara for tracking down, assembling, and distributing the equipment we all carry to mark these hazards when found.
