Big

Another day another big 'un; though it didn't quite push the envelope by this outing's standard. At 274 Dr. Dave Hall handily bested this beast using perfect tackle and technique developed over many years. He has mastered the capture of giant yellowfin tuna long range style. It is a sight to behold. A couple other opportunities were less successful today attributable to the luck factor only. Pulled hooks are an unavoidable percentage we must accept with poise. As long as the gear does not fail, and the hook size is appropriate, pulled hooks are nothing other than bad luck. So be it. Otherwise today offered a much smaller window of opportunity. The fish moved in for about an hour mid morning and then bolted for the deeps. Such is fishing; and is exactly why this group of seasoned veterans are focused, pushing hard at the rail. Today's image rightly features "Dr. Dave" enjoying the moment.
