Surprise
10-16-2019

A good hit in the early am on premium grade Guadalupe yellowtail got the blood flowing. While not surprised by the opportunity, after all this is a place where such things can and do happen, it was far from expected. That of course made it all the much better. Following the jumbo yellowtail glory a few tuna moved in tantalizing and teasing by crashing all around the boat and flying out of the water for hours. Preferring to perform acrobatics over biting we did manage to fool a couple of handfuls from the incredible potential witnessed. We’ll take it. Currently in near lock jaw mode anything we can coax on board in the way of tuna is well received.
Dawn of the final fishing day will see us on the hunt for premium yellows looking for a few more of these beauties before resuming the tuna pursuit. Our perfect conditions are forecast to breakdown as the day progresses so it is definitely time to “make hay while the sun shines”.
