Shogun Sportfishing Fish Report

9-26-2008

Early this morning we dropped the anchor here at Tanner Bank. Tommie started out the rally drifting a whole squid and it set off a scramble to prep the well to receive live tuna. The bite was slow and Norman pulled out his bag of tricks. Up went the kite with the "Double Trouble" sardine rig, and a whole squid was also fished under a balloon. Soon we put the other well into action as hopes were high for a full load of tuna. A few bonito were around but it was mostly small Bluefin taking the baits.

Coming out last night we were rigging up light, 25# top shot with 20# Blackwater fluorocarbon leader and small hooks as the fish were reported to be wary. Whatever the reason we had a successful day and will be off loading the fish to the aquarium's special transport truck tomorrow. The Shogun will then turn back out to sea and go long in search of an oceanic white tip shark, Yellowfin tuna and perhaps a few Dorado. Today the fish came easy, but we have a lot of work ahead of us.
