Hunkered in

"Sit and stay, make it pay" Such was the theme today as we adhered to the old maxim picking a nice tuna every so often in tough fishing conditions. Between the inclement weather, building seas, and slack to fitfull current there was little in the "easy" category to latch on to. We ground it out however. Or better said "they" ground it out. Hat's off to the heartiest few who put in the time and reaped the rewards.

In reality all were hearty enough pacing themselves at whatever rate fit their occasion; for that it is. Taking such into account we threw in the towel late in the day seeking better conditions. Though we may have left a couple behind I am one hundred percent confident that they were not missed. Plenty of laughs were to be had after the venue change as the sun set and all enjoyed the manufactured calm. Enough fish were accumulated to call the day a success and we ended it on the right note. Onward an upward tomorrow. While it appears that we'll have to earn them again the old fashioned way everyone is up to the challenge.

Royal Star veteran and friend Rudy Scott did exactly that today engaging in a marathon battle with his 175 that tusseled like a heavy weight champion until the bitter end. It took all fifteen rounds but the prize is now in the bank. Well done.
