Travel down all day in serene conditions. Flat calm is by far the best way to observe and appreciate micro surface features most often obscured by white caps and wind. It is amazing to see. The amount of small forage fish along the stretch we traveled yesterday was stunning. Hours upon hours of passage through sheets of surface fish served up and vulnerable to any and all predators on the hunt.

For our eyes and effort though no sign of worthy game fish were in the mix. Tons of mammals - everything from Orcas to Blue Whales, and everything in between, provided the majority of the day’s entertainment. But nothing came over the rail. Travel mode was exactly that. Soon coming to an end tomorrow will begin our fishing in earnest. Photo today is another grab from the archive. This jumbo yellowfin ultimately weighed in at well over 100 pounds.
