Best Laid Plans

Well the best laid plans to take advantage of this incredible sign of bluefin tuna offshore in the form of a weekend 1 1/2 day Royal Star voyage have been upended by Mother Nature. A quick but nasty blow from the Northwest is going to make for very unpleasant conditions Saturday effectively closing the door on this opportunity. While the boat can certainly handle the weather no doubt such conditions will challenge the definition of this proposed voyage as a “vacation”. We’d rather reschedule for the next weekend providing the weather and fishing hold up. That will be far better for everyone.

So it is while the guys travel up the line on schedule for a morning arrival Thursday. Beating the coming weather by about 28 hours they’re living right enjoying a flat calm ride uphill before all hell breaks loose on the outside for about 48 hours. We’ll keep everyone posted on the rescheduled 1 1/2 day dates and time when we commit this coming Saturday or Sunday. Enjoy today’s photo of Captain Blake Wasano and a 210 pound trophy yellowfin tuna grabbed from my personal archives. Don’t try this at home ladies and gentlemen!
