Royal Polaris Crew
Hi folks;
Tuesday was a very hectic day with the entire crew starting at 7:30am and finishing around 7:00pm. The welders had to return because the American Bureau of shipping found 3 pinholes in the welding of the center engine hatch. Those areas had to be grooved and re-welded. One auxiliary engine is completely ready to go for splashdown today (Wednesday).
Big D completed the bridge varnishing. Anthony and D spent part of the day varnishing the galley. Eddie and one electrician pulled wires to instruments in bridge. We started taking down scaffolding Tuesday pm.
Today, Wednesday, most of the guys are off today. Crew for the day is Frank, Steve, Big D, Billy, Roy, Rafael and Cole. Thirty (30) zincs are being attached to the bottom plus six (6) shaft zincs by the yard workers. The port prop came back from Wilmington and was attached this morning. Royal Polaris splashed at 11:45am!!
2:30pm - the Royal Polaris is being towed to the landing. We will be aligning engines Thursday and Friday. This is done because the boat takes on a different position in water as opposed to dry dock. Hopefully, we will do our first sea trial Saturday afternoon.
