Royal Star Fish Report for 3-2-2017
Departure
3-2-2017
Tim Ekstrom
We cleared the beautiful port of Cabo San Lucas with little fanfare heading southwest toward destination number one. Sailing forth on shaky information the one thing we are assured of is change. Fishing is fishing. Every year, every month, every day is different. What happened then has no bearing on what happens now. This foundation is the eternal elixir of optimism. In near perfect weather, a portent of good fortune we hope, our passage south across the broad stretch is blessed in comfort. Preparations are currently underway amidst bustling activity below.
The one day ride from Los Cabos compresses our prep time but that is not viewed as a negative. Quite the opposite in fact. One day to get it all done then we are in the saddle, at the rail, investing our time in exactly what we came for – fishing. Throw in a little catching and we'll be all smiles. A perfect weather forecast guarantees that survey conditions on day one will be prime. Now all we have to do is find 'em and coax them aboard. Without question this assembly of seasoned anglers is up to the job. Fishing reports complete with details are soon to follow.
