LONG HOT DAY
Roy roused the troops around 1:30 this morning to come out and make some bait. As you would guess, we were all bright eyed and eager to get out of our comfy bunks and do our part. The good news is they came over hot, heavy, and quick. The bad news is virtually no tuna were interested in our offerings. We did get treated to many shows of boiling fish near the boat, but almost anything with a hook and line attached to it was ignored. When we hung it up for the day we had almost nothing to show for our hard efforts. It comes down to one simple fact, sometimes no matter how hard you try, fish just don’t want to bite. We can only hope it was a temporary one day fast and we’ll get back down to business tomorrow. Until today, the weather has been warm, but that changed. Flat out hot and calm is the only way to describe it. I wish I had better news to report but I just can’t sugar coat today’s action. Of one thing you can be sure, it wasn’t for lack of trying as everyone has been giving 100% every day at the rail and will no doubt do so again tomorrow.
POEM OF THE DAY
It wasn’t like in the story
The truth is far more gory
The shark ate his fill
But look hard and still,
You may find a few scraps of Dory.
