Royal Star Fish Report for 9-11-2016

Local Yellowfin
9-11-2016

A good beginning to “The Bight” annual three day voyage with a bonus hit for 50 beautiful grade offshore yellowfin tuna a mere three hours west of Point Loma. In the cozy lair of U.S. Waters very encouraging signs suggest that plenty more of this style of fishing is yet to come for those plying local zones. We were far from the only one that found success today late; there were plenty to go around.
Day one tomorrow – officially – will feature the pursuit of variety, and trophy quality, as we continue west to another offshore zone burgeoning with promise. Photo today features Royal Star angler Bill Ranelletti with the fish of the day by a wide margin. At 73 pounds this epic grade, local offshore yellowfin set the bar early. The good news is that this wasn't the only one in our vicinity. The bad news is that you'll have to take my word for it. The show goes on.
