Baby Giants
6-15-2016

Nice morning conditions greeted the tuna pursuit fueling optimism for the mission. A couple of fruitless zigs and zags clouded the first couple of hours then we got on them. Unfortunately however the main vein consisted of 6-8 pound “baby giants” with a few standouts pushing 10 or 11 pounds. Dammit! While the little fellas provided a fairly entertaining diversion they were far from welcome on board. A few made it into the hatch but the majority were released with good tidings. And the day marched on.
Cruddy afternoon seas and water conditions urged us northward heeding the call of something, anything better to be found. A little inclement weather on the outside tomorrow motivates a variety effort along the coast. Anglers, who did a lot of sitting and waiting today, will have chance to wet a line throughout the day targeting anything special that happens along. Flat calm conditions will grace the effort before we return offshore again on our final day in what appears will be bumpy conditions.
