Royal Polaris Fishing Report

4-29-2016
Royal Polaris Crew

Hello everyone; Weather continues to be pleasant, with overcast skis, 8 to 12 knots of breeze, and warm for most of the day. We started hooking fish around 06:00 hours, and we had a slow pick for most of the day. We would keep a fishing going most of the time, sometimes two. Most of the fish were in the 120 to 150 range, with a few larger one’s and two over the 200 pound mark.

Hot stick today was Jim “I’m on again” Mitchell, but the two luck anglers were Roger Hawtree and Mark Ritchie.

We did have a few bad losses today, due to some of our anglers dropped in line class, just to get a bite. We had one passengers loss 3 fish today, due to sharks, hooks pulled, and spectra braking. He was a good sport about it, his words of wisdom, if I didn’t have bad luck, I would not have any luck at all.

Largest fish today was caught by Mark “El President” Ritchie. Mark fish weighed in at 246.2 pounds, which he caught on the kite.

The kite produced more fish today than yesterday, but most of the action came on Sardines, and we did hook one fish on the PL68 in the dark, but the taxman took most of that fish.

So with that note, I’ll close for now, but tomorrow I’ll be back with more news from the Royal Polaris.
