A smooth run down and across presently places our starting destination dead in our sights. The vast majority of anglers joined us in beautiful Cabo San Lucas Wednesday after spending a day or two in the land of plenty leisurely awaiting the arrival of Royal Star. Yesterday's quick run across the deeps was enjoyed as any flat calm day should be while anglers rigged and prepared their equipment for bait's in the water early morning Friday. A primo forecast suggests abundant opportunity. A far less than primo fish report from our colleague suggests our work will not be easy.
However, and a big however it is, for many years I have always stated that I would much rather be traveling towards, or arriving on the down side of the cycle. There is nothing worse than hearing that the boys are loading up three or four days away on one's bow. In that scenario all too often the glory fizzles to grief for the one arriving on the back end. Taking this into account, and the wealth of time in or favor, a prospecting mission, infused with plenty of patience, it presently is.
Reports and photos will follow from this point forward as the first “Fly down/Fly back” voyage of 2016 officially commences.
