Royal Polaris Fishing Report

Royal Polaris Crew

For the first day of fishing we did awfully well today. We picked at wahoo and tuna all day sometimes coming in singles, and sometimes multiple hookups.

When the dust cleared and the sun went down we had 32 wahoo and 24 tuna to show for our efforts.

The hoos ranged from small to quite fat and tuna started at around 50 pounds and worked their way up to a 186 bait fish caught by Koi Marcucelli. Anthony Ramirez was also a stand out with a 162 kite fish, as was Greg Curry who landed an estimated 170 bait fish while I was typing.

Jim Aljian landed the first wahoo of the day which earned him a Calstar rod blank.

There were also jig packs and T-shirts given away during the day. Weather is still just as nice as it can be. Sharks were never a factor today which made for an added bonus.

All in all an unqualified success of a day with admittedly room for improvement cow wise but keep in mind we were mostly just loosening up and working the first day kinks out and have ample time to build on an initial solid foundation.
