Hey folks-
We scratched at the yellowtail last night on the dropper loops and slabs of scad. All the yellowtail were beautiful grade from 18-40#. Come daylight we didn’t see anything around the boat so we picked it up and started looking around. The wind was up to about 25 knots and hard to see any surface sign of fish but we found a little area of scattered fish on the sonar and kicked the anchor back over. We hooked one right away and were able to keep 1-6 going the rest of the day till dark. All the tuna were again absolutely beautiful grade from 70-140#. Michael Folkes landed a 140 on dacron line and landed another 90# Yft on 100+ year old #24 lineman line and a bamboo rod! Pretty awesome catch! We are going to try for yellowtail again tonight somewhere out of the wind and hope we can put together another good day tomorrow. Wish us luck!
