Skinnin'
10-18-2015
Tim Ekstrom
A full day of slow scratching at “skin”, more than a few released exotics, and a handful of yellowtail. Excellent weather and good company at the rail made for a pleasant time of it, fishing among friends is what we came for, but a little more action in the way of quality game fish coming over the rail would have improved the day overall. On the western side of things today the fish simply didn't move into the bank; they passed their day touring the deeps somewhere beyond our reach. So it goes. In good weather, and possessing a clear understanding of our objective and time remaining to accomplish it, here we remain. Every day begins anew with promise of surprise. If these skinnies show up here in the shallows tomorrow the surprise will be on deck only. Taking the last couple of days off they are due to return rejuvenated and hungry; just as we want.
