A nice day on the coast out of the weather enjoying excellent morning action on 17 – 25# yellowtail. All over by lunch time we switched gears spending the remainder of the day spot fishing for variety and basically messing around while we took in the sights and enjoyed the manually crafted flat calm. It was a great day to wind down, catch a breath, and prepare for the final push offshore tomorrow that will come at a small price. Though far from too difficult the weather offshore isn't ideal. But the last species on the variety list – dorado, beckon from the outside grounds. So we head forth taking reasonable licks in search of the grand payoff; and the type of finish we prefer to end this already tremendously successful voyage on.
Photos today feature Harold Brightenburg with a jumbo “skin” coming over the rail, and Steve Morgan with a nice grade yellowtail landed on the heavy Sumo 6 squid color yo yo lure.
