First place winner Billy Fung of Thousand Oaks scored a 50-pound wahoo with an orange Krocodile on 40-pound Seaguar fluorocarbon and 50-pound Izorline Spectra. He used an Avet JX reel and a Terramar seven-foot rod.
Second place went to Alexuf Kwachka of Kodiak, AK for a 48-pound wahoo.

Chartermaster Sal Vallone won first place for a 98-pound yellowfin tuna he took with a chunk bait on a 6/0 ringed Mustad hook tied to 60-pound Seaguar fluorocarbon. He backed that stuff with 80-pound Izorline Spectra on a Cal Sheets Super 12 Penn reel on a Calstar 7470 H rod. Sal cranked that baby to the boat in 20 minutes.
Zack Sewell of Bellvue, ID won second place for a 75-pound tuna, and Maksim Andrykan of Woodland Hills was third for a 66-pounder. Arvel Castleberry stood in with the winners holding his best-ever 45-pound yellowtail.

Jason Hartung of Walker, MN won first place for a 63-pound wahoo he caught with a Catchy Tackle bomb in gold and green. He said the fight went ten minutes.
Hartung used 50-pound Izorline and 80-pound Line One Spectra on an Avet HX reel and a rod belonging to the Supreme.
Chris Mohs of Ventura was second for a 57-pound yellowfin tuna, and Jonathan Mussman of Petersburg, AK took third place for a 53-pound tuna.

Nigel Parker of Laguna Beach won the top spot for a 72-pound wahoo, which now moves into the top spot for skinnies caught during the 2008-09 season. He got it with a silver Raider jig on 50-pound Soft Steel line and 80-pound Izorline. He used a Trinidad 40 reel and a six-foot Loomis rod.
“It’s my first-ever wahoo,” said Nigel.
Sometimes you just can’t beat a rookie’s luck.
Vince Varia of Temple City won second place for a 59-pounder. Mike Nagao of Whittier tied with chartermaster Larry Fancher for third place. Both men had 56.5-pound skinnies. Nagao got his with a pink and silver Burns Bomb, and Fancher said his came on an anchovy.
