Prevailed

The battle rages on. No rest for the weary; and no giving up. Taking the whole setting into consideration it is a thing of beauty. Living the august essence of nature is what this island is all about. During this round everyone is receiving full value.

Once again we prevailed after taking our lumps and then some throughout the day. A relatively slow mid day pick on gear marginal for this size fish delighted the denizens but a late school found in a “fresh” zone provided a clean shot for an hour or so. Needless to say we made good on the chance restoring balance to an equation skewed way in favor of the locals beforehand. Ending on the right note we settled in to the evening routine appreciative of the flat calm lee and the comfort that comes with it.

Gearing up for a final run at them tomorrow all are refreshed and ready to go in the last round. Photo today features Royal Star angler Willy Bombard who overcame some real frustration to mercifully end his day on a high note. Here forth known as “Five F*%#@ Willy” a vehement, salty, cathartic purge followed an unfortunate loss of a nice tuna right next to the boat. Understood by a sympathetic audience the expression was taken at face value and cleared the way for his next battle that ended in success. Get over it and get it done; yes sir!
