Good Fishing

7-15-2018
Tim Ekstrom

Fine recreational angling for 40 - 70 pound yellowfin and a few handfuls of yellowtail with an occasional standout tuna in the mix 100 pounds or larger. Spending the entire day stationary anglers had ample opportunity to practice the art of sport fishing while enjoying spectacular sights and sounds accompanying the effort. If I could craft an ideal setting for our style of fishing this would be it; not much more to say than that.

Settled in and eager to savor this exceptional fortune we’ll see if the trend continues tomorrow. Regardless of the catching we are in fine shape. But a few more for the larder would not be passed up if the opportunity is presented. “Make hay while the sun shines”. And shine on us it is. Delightful.

Photo today features proud Dad Art Holcomb who I mentioned yesterday is having the time of his life watching his daughter Katie learn the fine details of offshore tuna fishing. Squeezing in plenty of rail time too Art set the bar high early landing this dandy 172 right out of the gates on day one. Exceptional well describes this catch, and then some!
